What kind of invitation must be?

We included the invitation (tourist voucher) in our price, but you can get by yourself:

a) For PRIVATE VISA - Original invitation letter issued by the Administration for Migration issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation. (For urgent trips for medical reasons a certificate from a medical institution).

b) For BUSINESS/ HUMANITARIAN VISA - A letter of invitation issued by the Administration for Migration issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation or a telex from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

For EU citizens – a written invitation from a Russian host entity. The invitation must contain: name, date of birth, citizenship, passport number, time and purpose of the journey, number of entries; for the inviting organization – full name and address, signature and name of the official authorized to invite foreigners to Russia.

c) For WORK VISA - A letter of invitation issued by the Administration for Migration issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation or a telex from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

d) For STUDY VISA -A letter of invitation issued by the Administration for Migration issues of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation or a telex from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

e) For TOURIST VISA - A 'Tourist voucher' and a 'Confirmation of reception of foreigners' stamped and signed by an authorized person. The documents can be provided by a hotel booked or a travel agent. Tourist visa for Cypriot citizens can be issued for a maximum period of 90 days. For citizens of other countries tourist visa can be issued for a maximum perod of one month.

Tourists on board of large cruise ships can stay in Russia without a visa for up to 72 hours and leave the ship only as part of an organized tourist group. Tourists who wish to leave the ship on their own or in a group of less than 5 tourists must have a visa.

f) For TRANSIT VISA - Photocopies of tickets to and from the Russian Federation and a valid visa (if required by that country) to the country (countries) of destination. Transit visa is not required for stays in the airport transit zone not exceeding 24 hours.

Russian visa centre in Cyprus

On 4th October 2019, Russian visa centre is opened in Cyprus. The Russian Visa Center in Cyprus is established to simplify the procedure of applying for Russian visas and to improve the quality of services for Cypriot citizens and other nationals applying for visas to enter the Russian Federation.

This will be facilitated by the modern equipment and software of the Russian Visa Centre, qualified personnel, comfortable offices conveniently located in all major cities of Cyprus — Nicosia, Paphos, Limassol, Larnaca.

The Russian Visa Centre in Cyprus is the only agency officially authorized by the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus to accept and process applications for Russian visas on behalf of the Embassy from individuals and organizations, hand over passports with ready visas and provide other services.

Please note that the Russian Visa Centre and its staff cannot influence the decision on a visa application and timing of consideration. The assessment of completeness and reliability of visa applications, the authority to issue (or refuse) a visa are the exclusive prerogative of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Republic of Cyprus.

When submitting the documents, an applicant pays consular and service fees to the Russian Visa Centre. Consular fee rates are set in accordance with the Russian law or applicable international treaties. The full amount of the consular fee is transferred by the visa center to the Embassy.
